Model S7 - the flagship from the company Roborock, went on sale in March 2021-2022. The manufacturer made a number of innovative changes to the device, making cleaning better and more comfortable. The updated central brush made of thermoplastic polyurethane is more resistant to winding hair and hair.

For wet cleaning, there is a vibrating mop, which the robot picks up when it drives onto the carpet, and for dry cleaning, there is a ribbed roller. These and other innovations of the Chinese manufacturer of smart home appliances are discussed in more detail in this review.

Roborock S7 functionality

Externally Roborock S7 is made in the corporate brand style: the body is made of high-quality plastic in white or black. On the body are located:

• Lidar;
• Three control buttons: power on, return to base and local cleaning;
• C-shaped status indicator.

It is necessary to note a novelty in the device of the docking station: now it is equipped with special brushes which clean the hair from the bottom of the vacuum cleaner before charging.

You can control the vacuum cleaner using the three buttons located on the body or via a smartphone. You can use both the proprietary application from Roborock and MiHome from Xiaomi. But the manufacturer recommends using the "native" application, as the level of its performance is much higher.

With the Roborock S7 app you can:

• Build an interactive map of the room;
• Edit and save changes to the maps: the device can store up to 4 virtual maps. This is very convenient for premises with several floors;
• Adjust individual cleaning parameters for each room;
• Edit the outlines of carpets;
• Customize the carpet cleaning mode: in front of a pile the vacuum lifts the mop, increases the power, turns on the vibration, or at all bypasses the carpet as an obstacle;
• Establish a cleaning schedule for each day of the week;
• Set "child-proof" mode;
• Turn on "do not disturb" mode;
• Edit the voice pack;
• Check the level of wear and tear on the accessories.

In the app, the vacuum cleaner not only divides the apartment into rooms, making a detailed description of each of them, but also adjusts the individual parameters of complex cleaning. Each room is set from 1 to 3 approaches, the suction power, water supply, marked limiters - "virtual walls" and restricted areas.

Using the application, you can set an automatic increase in power when you come in on the carpet. In total, the vacuum cleaner has three modes of cleaning rooms with carpets:

• "Auto Carpet": this mode is implemented for the first time in this model thanks to the innovative lifting platform Vibra Rise. Finding a shaggy area, the vacuum cleaner automatically lifts the mop, drives around the perimeter of the coating, memorizing the outline of the edges, and then brushes the entire area of the carpet. As the device descends to the floor, it lowers the platform, continuing the comprehensive cleaning of the room.
• "Avoid Carpet": This mode allows the vacuum cleaner to gently bypass carpeting without setting "no-go zones". This function makes sense for fluffy carpets with long pile.
• "Vibration on carpet": The vacuum cleaner drives over carpets with the mop lowered, completely ignoring changes in carpet type.

Like previous versions, the S7 first goes around the perimeter of the room, and then zigzags to clean the main area. It has three modes of operation: spiraling, zigzagging, and following the walls.

Obstacles such as furniture or curtains, the robot goes around quite delicately, easily overcomes obstacles of height 10-15 mm. Thresholds of 20 mm are given to the vacuum cleaner with difficulty.

The manufacturer specifies a suction power of 2500 Pa, but in fact the vacuum cleaner is more powerful than analogs with a capacity of 3000 - 4000 Pa. The maximum noise level at the same time is only 63 dB.

The vacuum cleaner is designed for dry, wet or complex cleaning. The quality of both dry and wet cleaning is quite high. Thanks to the vibrating mop, the robot vacuum cleaner is also suitable for cleaning in the kitchen.

It should be noted the battery capacity of 5200 mAh, which is enough for 3 hours of continuous operation, or to clean the room area of 200 square meters. To fully charge the device requires 6 hours.

The robot vacuum cleaner is packed in a white box. The kit includes:

• Roborock S7 robot vacuum cleaner;
• Docking station with brushes to clean the contact pads during each return of the device;
• Semicircular nozzle for wet cleaning with a microfiber cloth;
• Russian-language operation manual and instructions for connecting the robot to the network.

Additional consumables and accessories: replacement brushes, brushes, wipes can be ordered for a fee.

Pros and cons of the model

The model has the following advantages:

• High quality of both dry and wet cleaning;

• Convenient cleaning control app;

Roborock S7 has the following disadvantages:

• High cost - on average on marketplaces the vacuum cleaner will cost 43 thousand rubles;
• A meager set of accessories, the lack of additional consumables and accessories in the basic set;
• The small volume of the container for dust collection - only 0.47 liters;
• Hardly overcomes thresholds of 20mm;
• No front camera;
• There may be problems with dark surfaces: the sensors recognize an obstacle in them and bypass.

Conclusions

The Roborock S7 is the ideal solution for homes and apartments with many rooms spread over several floors. Suitable for both hard and shaggy floors.

The device adapts individually to each room. In a single cycle it performs a quality comprehensive cleaning, taking into account all the features of the room. The functionality of the mobile app allows you to plan the process down to the smallest detail.

Given all the presented functionality, at first glance the overpriced price seems quite reasonable.

We bought the vacuum cleaner less than a month ago and have already forgotten what cleaning is. The unit itself vacuums and cleans the floor. Removes even the toughest stains from the kitchen. Goes around carpets. We set up a cleaning schedule for three times a day and connected it to Alice. It is very convenient. We didn't find any disadvantages yet. We are satisfied with the purchase. I bought this robot vacuum cleaner about a month ago and overall I am very happy with the product. The quality of cleaning is great: no streaks or small dirt is left behind, it is quiet. No hair or cat hair on the brush, no need to clean the brush after every cleaning - this is a significant plus. The disadvantages are insignificant, but I would still like a more powerful battery and more suction power: unfortunately, the vacuum cleaner did not cope with cat hair on the carpet. In order to clean the container with debris, it is better to use a device for automatic cleaning.
